Dr John Grimshaw on 'Woody Plants for the Winter Garden'

‘Dr John Grimshaw - Director of the Yorkshire Arboretum is a respected gardener, botanist and author. John was awarded a First in Botany at Oxford and has enjoyed a career of varied and interesting work including 9 years restoring the Gardens at Colesbourne Park (famous for its scented "S.Arnott" snowdrops). Before he became the Director of the Yorkshire Arboretum In 2012 he wrote and edited several books, “The Gardeners' Atlas” a book on the origins of the world's most popular plants and co-authored “Snowdrops: A Monograph of Cultivated Galanthus” and “New Trees, Recent Introductions to Cultivation”.

This afternoon John discusses the wide range of woody plants that are effective in winter and complement snowdrops and other ground flora.
